Engines are the only thing we sell with a warranty, and it is 12 months. Every other part we sell is covered differently: if it turns out to be faulty, we replace it. We say which is which plainly, because an engine is the biggest thing anybody buys from us.

The 12-month warranty
A used engine from us carries a 12-month warranty. That is the strongest thing we offer on any part, and it exists because an engine is the one purchase where a customer cannot check for themselves what they are getting.
We say nothing about the labour of fitting it. What is covered is the engine.
Why we need the registration, and often the engine code too
On engines the registration is where we start but not always where we finish. The same van, same year and same badge was built with more than one engine variant, and the differences that matter are invisible from outside: the injection system, the emissions equipment, the flywheel and the ancillary mounting points.
So we ask for the registration first, and on some vans we will then ask you to read the code off the block or the plate. It takes you two minutes and it prevents an engine arriving that bolts up but will not run correctly.
Fitted here, which most sellers cannot offer
Most places that sell a used engine put it on a pallet and wish you luck. We have the workshop in the same building, so you can have the engine fitted by the people who sold it to you — or collect it and fit it yourself. The choice is entirely yours and it does not change what the engine costs.
Our stock covers four vans only: the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Renault Master, Vauxhall Movano and Nissan NV400. We keep four to six donor vans at any one time, so what is on the shelf changes week to week — an engine we did not have last month may be here now, and one we have today may go.
We are in Kettering and collection is usually the same day we confirm it.
